Preparing for an exciting show opening at Taboo Studio in San Diego: “Back to Nature” opening August 14, 2015 and runs through September 25, 2015. Most often we conceive of plants either as food or as ornamental,–as purely passive creatures to be used as we see fit. My pieces aim to destabilize our preconceptions and appeal to our aesthetic appetite. The use of false eyelashes and black diamonds speak directly to our cultural obsession with beauty and bling… and what’s more natural than a predatory plant and it’s dinner?
